PUNE: The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has directed the Navi Peth-based Indian Serological Institute blood bank to stop its operations till further orders.
The FDA directive comes following two inspections conducted by drug inspectors at the blood bank. In a letter issued to the blood bank on Wednesday, FDA joint commissioner S.S.
Urunkar said defects of serious nature were found in its functioning.

"In the interest of public health, it is not proper to allow you to continue with the operations of the blood bank," Urunkar wrote.
